To build environmental resilience.
We want to increase biodiversity and environmental resilience, by improving the quality, quantity and connectivity of ecosystem services (like access to clean water, shelter, grazing and habitat) that humans, livestock and wildlife need.
To foster landscape resilience
We want to adapt Sugar Loaf and its residents to a changing climate (e.g. through flood and fire risk management), limit our negative impacts (e.g. through local supply chains and reducing energy demand), and make the most of the fantastic natural resources on our doorstep.
To enable agricultural Resilience
We want to identify alternative income streams, boost grazing potential and reduce energy vulnerability amongst agricultural communities, so that living and working here is sustainable.
To nurture the 'Sugar Loaf community’
We already know Abergavenny is a vibrant place to live and work. We want to continue to support this by developing a local community organisation focused on the natural resources we have access to locally. We want to develop an empowered Sugar Loaf community which collaborates towards a collective and sustainable future.
